Urban List: Toum is the new garlic dip from Melbourne chef and icon Tom Sarafian

Chef and Melbourne favourite, Tom Sarafian is expanding his dip empire with his latest release, TOUM.

The all-new garlic dip is a staple in Tom's repertoire; busting it out everywhere from fine diners to backyard barbecues.

The creamy and soft garlic dip is completely hand-made and uses ingredients that Tom's sourced from local farmers; it's also vegan-friendly and completely gluten and dairy-free. Tom has described the long affliction he's had for the dip; “I first discovered Toum working alongside Greg Malouf at the since-closed Momo in 2011. It was love at first sight and I’ve been addicted to Toum since”.

The flavours of TOUM work perfectly with Tom's middle-eastern infused cooking, he's described how the flavours complement everything from a Lebanese-style Shishtawook to a sanga or a seafood platter. After the wild success of his glass-jarred Hummus which came out early this year, we can expect that TOUM will fly off the shelf at a similar rate of frenzy.

You can find the all-new dip at a variety of spots in Melbourne including, Baker Bleu, All Are Welcome, Meatsmith and Morning Market, but you can also grab it online here.
